The Red Line Zone (90-100%)

When you push your body into the Red Line Zone, it’s not going to be able to sustain the pace.  Generally only athletes and people who have been training hard can train effectively in this zone.

To determine what your personal heart rates are for each zone, you can use this equation to map it out.

HR = (MHR – RHR) * Zone Percentage + RHR

So to determine the rate for each zone, Subtract your MHR from your RHR and then multiply that by the percentage of the zone.  Then add your RHR to that number.  This will help you determine how much your heart should beat for each zone.  Now that you know where each zone is for your body, you can use this to help you reach your goals.  The Garmin FR60 will help you identify when you enter in each zone, so that you can pace yourself and use that knowledge to workout properly.
